Image of Al Jarreau
About the art: Since I started concert photography, every year I most look forward to festival season. It’s a pretty amazing time and it presents the opportunity to tick off a few photography bucket list items. It’s thanks to supporters of my work, that I can capture these moments and create these works of art. Special thanks to curators of the Richmond Jazz Festival.
To be able to say you captured an amazing artist, who is a legend, shortly before they passed away is a pretty good feeling. That’s what happened in 2016. The incomparable Al Jarreau performed and left quite an indelible mark on my heart. I didn’t get to meet him, but his spirit and energy made me feel good. And I still smile when I think back to his performance.
Why his hand and not a portrait? Sometimes artists emote in different ways. For me, in this moment, Al’s hand was punctuating the end of every verse.
Aesthetics of your print:
I’m all about the look and feel of your piece of artwork. I've taken the time to find the best quality paper and finish to further enhance the richness of each piece of art.
Small format pieces include sizes 8x10 and 11x14, which are printed on a thick textured matte paper, while large format pieces, ranging in sizes 16x20 - 24x36, are printed on archival fine art paper. All prints are produced with a border. Each piece is signed when I ship it to you.
