Image of Keyon Harrold
About the art: This piece is inspired by Keyon’s “MB Lament AKA When Will It Stop”. The score is about the senseless killing of Michael Brown. I pulled from the pain that can clearly be heard within the music. I found and old slave bill and decided to incorporate that as one of the textures, in an effort to elevate this piece. The color red is featured as a representation of the blood spilled, in both instances, and I’ll let you take it from there ... seeing, feeling and interpreting what you will.
