About the piece: Yolanda, a local artist, has an affinity for the phenomenal Nina Simone. In June, she took part in a "community" discussion Nina entitled: Nina Simone Revisited: Four Women. In that conversation, the panel spoke of songs of which Nina had composed. One such song, as Yolanda exclaimed was “Mississippi Goddamn”. When I created this piece, I added some of the lyrics of the song for an added dimension.
About the print: It's definitely all about the aesthetic. We've taken the time to find the best quality paper and finish in order to further enhance the richness of each piece of art.
Our small format pieces are printed on a thick textured matte paper, while our large format pieces are printed on archival fine art paper. All prints are are produced with a border.
